Steve Whitesell, President, Cutting Edge Fabrication, Inc.
Steve graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He went to work for GE in their Manufacturing Management Program. He had progressively more responsible assignments concluding as Manager of Customer Service for the residential/commercial transformer Division.
Steve was Manager of an independently owned Apparatus Service Shop.
He also was the Manufacturing Manager of a 250 employee division of Emerson Electric.
Steve was Engineering/Manufacturing Manager of a precision machining operation that produced stationary components for jet engines.
Steve was the Vice President of a company that produced cleaning systems for the animal care and hospital industry.
In 1990 Steve purchased an independent custom metal fabricating company, now Cutting Edge Fabrication. He transitioned the company from primarily supporting textile related customers to a broader base of customers as the textile industry has moved off-shore. The company's services are provided out of a 20,000 square foot facility in Gastonia. They offer design support to their customers as well as day to day operations back up with quick responses to keep their plants on-line. They also provide on-site services.
Steve has been a member of the Gastonia Rotary Club for over 20 years. Gastonia is the second largest Rotary Club in the district. Steve served as President of the Club as well as on the board of directors. Steve is currently assistant governor for District 7680.
Steve is a member of the Gaston Regional Chamber of Commerce, and have served on the board of directors for the Chamber as well as a member of the Governmental affairs committee. Steve is also currently a member of the advisory board for the Chamber.
Steve is a member of First United Methodist Church in Gastonia. He currently serves on the Staff Parish Relations Committee, which is responsible for the Human Relations function of the Church. Steve has previously served on the Finance Committee and the Buildings and Grounds Committee. He is a team leader for our breakfast feeding project for the Salvation Army Homeless Shelter, where we serve a hot breakfast every Tuesday morning to the residents as well as the homeless.
Steve serves every month on the Gaston County Meals on Wheels program to help feed the home confined elderly citizens of the County.
